British Online Archives (BOA) is an online hub for historic information, which is useful to students and education institutions. I worked with the team behind the BOA to redesign the website and provide advice on the user journeys and user experience.
In the beginning of the project, I was provided with some early wireframes that we further developed. But the problem we encountered was that the BOA was a little faceless. So I created some simple identities that could potentially solidify BOA as a recognisable brand and I also created a working styleguide to help them with the development process.
While the brand identity concept wasn't used, it didn't take too much away from the visual design. Over the course of a few weeks, I engaged with the team behind BOA throughout my design process to discuss certain elements and features. I took the responsibility of converting their wireframes and turning them into a visual design and worked on several iterations to find the best solution throughout the process.
I thoroughly enjoyed working with the team behind British Online Archives; doing all the visual design and communicating different ideas to try and improve UX for the many pages I created for desktop and mobile.
